1. AI Edit can be invoked from the following points:
• Work Item Context Menu – ADO Editor

• Work Item Context Menu – Queries tab

• Work Item Context Menu – Backlogs

• Work Item Context Menu – Sprints

• Copilot4DevOps – Anchor Work Item Context Menu

• A popup will open with all the selected fields for the work item.
• All of the HTML fields can be edited via inline editing.
• Suggest Edits, Change Length, Polish, and Reading levels options are shown on toolbar.
• These options can be applied to all selected fields, a specific selected field, or any selected text within a field.

Using the Chat Feature in AI Edit – Copilot4DevOps
1. Click on the Chat option in the left panel of AI Edit to open the Chat window for Copilot4DevOps.


2. The Chat panel opens, allowing interaction with the AI assistant in real-time.

3. The AI assistant supports editing, refining, and clarifying work item content via natural language input.


4. The chat feature maintains awareness of ongoing interactions, preserving context across edits and selections to ensure a consistent and efficient user experience.


5. Users can invoke the chat assistant at any time to ask questions, receive contextual guidance, or get support related to specific work items—enhancing productivity and reducing the need for manual documentation reference.

Suggest Edits:
• Click ‘Suggest Edits’ to receive AI-generated suggestions for the elicited work item fields.
Note: Selecting a specific field or highlighting text within a field and clicking Suggest Edits will generate AI-based suggestions exclusively for that field or the selected text.

• Suggestions will be displayed on the right side for the selected field.

• Hover over a suggestion card and click ‘Apply’ to use it or edit manually using the inline editor

• Discard suggestions by clicking on the ‘X’ on top right corner of the suggestion card or by clicking ‘Clear All Suggestions’ on top right corner of the right panel.

Change Length:
• Highlight text in the selected field or just click Change length.
• Click on ‘Change length’ option to adjust the text length.

• Select from the length options of Short, Medium, or Long.

• The text will be adjusted to the selected length: Short, Medium, or Long.
Note: Selecting a specific field or Highlighting text within a field and clicking Change length will adjust the text length for that select text or that field only.

Polish:
• Click ‘Polish’ on the toolbar to ensure proper grammar, clarity, and consistency in the text.

• The selected text or the text within the field will be rewritten.


Note: Selecting a specific field or Highlighting text within a field and clicking Polish will make changes for that selected text or that field only.
Reading level:
• Click on ‘Reading level’ option to adjust the reading level from Elementary to Expert.

• Select from the level options of Elementary, Standard, or Expert.

• The text will be adjusted to the selected level.


Note: Selecting a specific field or Highlighting text within a field and clicking Reading level will make changes for that selected text or that field only.
Previous Version, Next Version, Show Changes
• Navigate and view Previous or latest changes with Previous version and Next Version option on toolbar.

• Click on ‘Previous Version’ to view last four changes made using AI Edit.

• While viewing previous versions, click on the ‘Next Version’ option in the toolbar or bottom bar, or click on the ‘Back to Editing’ option in the top-right corner of AI Edit or ‘Back to latest version’ on the bottom bar to navigate to the latest version or continue editing.

• While viewing previous versions, click on ‘Restore This Version’ to set it as the latest version and continue making changes.


• Click on ‘Show Changes’ on the toolbar to view the modifications made using AI Edit between versions.


Refresh
• Click Refresh to get the latest details of the work item in ADO within AI Edit.


Save Changes
• Click on Save Changes from the top right corner of the AI Edit to save changes


• Changes made in the field(s) will be shown in the ADO Editor of work item.

• Click the ‘X’ button in the top right corner to exit AI Edit without saving any changes
